This event transformed the Green Unit of the Pediatric Specialty Hospital including 6 patient rooms, doctor's office, nurse's station, medicine room, formula troom, utility room, and 2 bathrooms
To complete this project, THE PITTSBURGH PAINTS CO.™ selected PITTSBURGH PAINTS ANTI-SCUFF™ Interior Zero VOC^ paint. This paint delivers unrivaled scuff resistance, making it the perfect choice for the high-traffic areas in The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh.
Additionally, PITT-TECH® Plus Gloss DTM will be applied to the metal door frames. This one-component, 100% waterborne acrylic enamel works to retain glossiness, vibrancy, and toughness. This application process is supported by Abracadabra Contracting Services,a premier contractor since 2012.
Green, like Lettuce Alone (PPG1222-4), and yellow, such as Soleil (PPG1093-2), bring a unique balance of calm and optimism to a space, making them especially meaningful for children by creating an environment that nurtures comfort, encourages positivity and supports emotional well-being. Green, often associated with nature and renewal, creates a sense of rest and reassurance. Yellow introduces warmth and light, offering a gentle sense of positivity and hope.
Together, green and yellow create an environment that feels calming and uplifting. Their combination balances calmness with positivity, helping to soften the clinical feel of a care environment. By creating a more comforting, engaging and hopeful atmosphere, these colors can help children feel more at ease while supporting the compassion and connection that are so important during their care journey.
